There will come a day

This piece was years in the making, essentially a literary collage of many poems and pieces that I wrote in response to personal hardships and formative experiences. Published in the April 2015 issue of The Periphery, an innovative Detroit-based magazine, it is a personal favorite of mine.

Viewpoint: Horrible leadership at the University, starring Dishell and Schlissel — A hilariously painful tragicomedy in four parts

A critique of the University of Michigan's sexual assault awareness campaign published in The Michigan Daily, this article went viral within our university and stayed on the "Most Read" list for weeks. Following its success, the article was quoted in many other articles, both in The Michigan Daily and in other publications, and resulted in a position for me on many university advisory councils.

Michigan in Color: A love letter

This piece appeared on the front page of The Michigan Daily, the University of Michigan's newspaper, as part of the "Michigan in Color" column, the most widely read column on campus. An abstract stream-of-consciousness borderlining on poetry, this intensely personal piece was not only one of the most read pieces of The Michigan Daily but was also circulated widely, receiving praise from all around the country.
